Cleaning your board

 

Cleaning

  1. Clean your board with a soft rag, warm water, and dish soap.

    • Do not submerse your board into water for extended periods of time.

    • Do not put your board into the dish washer. The heat will warp it.

  2. Towel dry your board.

    • Do not leave your board wet to air dry in a dish rack.

  3. Tough smell removal

    • Rub your board down with kosher salt

    • Take a lemon cut it in half and rub the board down with the lemon

    • Repeat steps 1-2 above

    • Follow periodic protection treatment steps

Period Protection and Treatment

It is important to periodically treat your board with a food safe product that will protect the board and make it last forever.

Recommended products:

Food grade mineral oil

Flaxseed oil

Walrus oil

  1. After washing and drying - apply a liberal amount of oil to the board

  2. Rub all surface areas of the board with the oil

  3. Allow board to air dry overnight

  4. Wipe any excess oil that has not soaked into the board away with a paper towel or soft rag

  5. Allow board to fully dry before using
